Willie Mae Harrell Reese, 90, of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.
She was born November 7,1932, and was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel (Sam) Reese, and son, Robert Earl (Bobby); Father, Willie R. and mother, Sallie Mae Castelloe Harrell, along with brothers, Forrest (Jack), James Clayton (JC), Robert Earl (Earl), Linwood (Buddy), and sister, Lillian. She is survived by 3-siblings, Helen Newby, Hazel Cooksey, and John (Buck) Harrell; 5 children and their spouses, Tommy Reese, Diana Baur, Shirley Hardison, Jimmy Reese, and Hope Baur; 9-grandchildren: Patty Korman, Sonny Seay, Sallie Durand, Richard Baur, Casey Baur, James Robert (Bobby) Reese, Samantha Boyette, Amber Edwards, Christopher Douget, and Stacy Rojas; and, 11-great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lindsey, Tera, Gabe, Norah, Bentley, Avery, Reagan, Joseph, David and Caleb. She loved us all very much.
Willie was well known in Plymouth and well established within the business community. She was an entrepreneur with a long career in both the restaurant and real estate businesses and owned a thrift shop downtown. She was also a member of the Downtown Development Association, a member of the Realtors Association and a former member of the Planning Board of the Washington County Hospital. A woman of strong Christian faith, she also attended Grace Baptist Church, where she immensely enjoyed going to, volunteering with, and attending church social events.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church by the Rev. Lee Price. Her remains will be interned with her husband at a private graveside service on a date yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Per her Sister, she always said "if she had money, she would send it to those people…"
