William McCoy Harrington, Sr., 79 passed away on October 27, 2025 at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital following a long illness. He was born on October 26, 1946 to Henry Kenneth Harrington, Sr. & Vera Peed Harrington, who preceded him in death.

Growing up on the family farm, at an early age, William developed a love for tending the land and farmed all his life. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, and a dedicated member of the parking crew of The Message of Easter. He was also an active member of the Farm Life Ruritan Club for over fifty years. "Sundance" was known as "the chief cook and bottle washer" of the Fairview Hunting

Club for many years planning and preparing breakfast every Saturday morning as well as grilling hot dogs for lunch up many pulp mill roads in the area. He developed many lasting and close friendships with his fellow hunters. William was also known near and far for his delicious barbeque sauce. A true passion of his was riding horses. It brought him much pleasure to ride himself, but even more pleasure to attend horse shows in which the apple of his eye, his beloved granddaughter, Miley, to whom he passed his love of horses down to, and niece, Sydney Sparrow participated in. William had the kindest heart and was always a good neighbor to everyone in the community, and a dedicated care giver of his wife, Reba for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Roberson Harrington, son, William McCoy Harrington, Jr. and wife Stacy, granddaughter, Miley Harrington, brother, Ken Harrington (Audrey), sister, Susan Griffin (Jon), sister-in- law, Linda Tilley, several nieces and nephews, and extra special friend Randy Hardison (Edie), his life-long childhood friend. If there was mischief to be found, William and Randy were sure to find it.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in the sanctuary at Piney Grove Baptist Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Jason Tate and Joey Brickhouse. Due to weather conditions, a family burial will be held at Hardison's Cemetery at a later date.
