Mr. William Douglas "Doug" Modlin, age 82, a resident of Doodle Hill passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 3, 2025, at his family's home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church, with pastors, Chris Watkins, Gary Bateman, and Roger Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery. Donald Johnson, Shannon Modlin, Jason Modlin, Mike Wells, Jaxon Modlin, Justin Britt and Julian Britt will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, evening November 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM till 7:30 PM at the church, and other times at 504 Warren St. Williamston.

Mr. Modlin was born on February 23, 1943, in Martin County to Esther Beacham Modlin and Andrew Modlin. He attended Martin County Schools and worked later for Bonnet Manufacturing and did some carpentry work. He enjoyed hard work and attending church at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Randell Keith Modlin, and three sisters: Louise Duckwall, Betty Modlin and Judy Roberson Davis.

Survivors include one brother, Danny Charles Modlin; and two sisters: Brenda Wells and Linda Edmondson (Willie) all of Williamston.
