Wilbert (Dickie) Wilson Hall, Jr., 83, of Merry Hill, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025.

Born on December 18, 1941, to Annie Harrison Hall and Wilbert Wilson Hall, Sr., Wilbert grew up in Aulander, but lived his adult life in Windsor with a strong sense of family, faith, and service — values that guided him throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he learned discipline, camaraderie, and the importance of helping others. Those same qualities followed him home, where he devoted many years to the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, protecting and caring for the community he loved so dearly.

In 1963, Wilbert married the love of his life, Jane Hinnant Hall, and together they built a beautiful life over 62 years of marriage. Their home was one filled with laughter, love, and countless stories — the kind of home where family always came first. Wilbert was a devoted husband, a patient father, a proud grandfather, and an adoring great-grandfather.

He found joy in the simple things: a quiet morning on the water with a fishing pole in hand, an afternoon round of golf with friends and family, or evenings spent with his Beagle, Walter, by his side. He loved sharing stories from his time in the service and catching up with family and friends. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where he had served as Junior Warden.

Wilbert is survived by his wife, Jane; his daughter, Susan Hall Mizelle (Ray); grandson Tyler Mizelle (Cierra); granddaughter Katie Tess (Andy); and two great-grandsons who brought him endless smiles, Cohen and Christian. He is also survived by his brother Howard Hall (Loretta) and his loyal companion, Walter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Wilbert Hall, Sr., his sister Faye Whitehead (John), brothers Kenneth Hall and Jerry Hall, and sister, Geraldine Newsome.

Wilbert's life was one of quiet strength, deep devotion, and unwavering kindness. He never sought recognition — only the satisfaction of knowing he had done his part to help others. His family and friends will remember him as a man who loved deeply, served faithfully, and lived humbly.

A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Windsor Friday, Nov. 14th at 2:00 PM with a reception in the Cooper Parrish Hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN. 38101-9929 or St. Thomas Episcopal Church, PO Box 400, Windsor, NC, Delsie Farless Building Fund, in his memory.
