Veonne "Butch" Lee Sloan, 74 of NC Hwy 11 N, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

Mr. Sloan was born on June 4, 1946 in Richwood, WV to the late Arnold Ray and Macil Hazel McCourt Sloan. He was a mechanic and a member of Christ Church in Winterville. Mr. Sloan was a Gold Medalist in Billiards; he loved golf and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Arnold Ray Sloan, Jr., William Roland Sloan and granddaughter, Beverly Elizabeth Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Diane Davenport Sloan of Bethel; daughters, Michelle Sloan Boyle (Michael) of Virginia Beach and Beverly Sloan Davis (Danny) of Greenville; sons, William Stanley Williams (Vinita) of West Jefferson and Lucas Ray Sloan (Tarah) of Garner; brothers, Daniel Durand Sloan (Pat) of Jamesville, Ronald Jarrett Sloan (Doris) of Greenville, Richard Allen Sloan (Katrina) of Washington and James Randall Sloan of Pinetown; sisters, Stella Marie Hopkins (Greg) of Williamston and Jennifer Lynn Sawyer of Greenville; grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Mandy Davis, Gunnar Chesson, Carigan Williams, Athena Sloan and Gabriel Sloan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Walker Chapel with Pastor Tim Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
