Velma Louise Baker, 77 of E. Green St., died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Martin General Hospital.

Mrs. Baker was born on May 26, 1943 in Martin County to the late William Robert and Margaret Isabel Taylor Harris. She was an LPN at the Carrolton of Williamston and a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Baker, Sr.; brothers, William Earl and Tommy Harris; sister, Linda Hollis.

Survivors include her daughters, Loretta Haislip and husband Joey and Ruby Farrar and husband Chris all of Robersonville; sons, Noah Baker, Jr. and wife Shelby of Robersonville and Wesley Baker and wife Sherry of Oak City; brothers, Bobby Harris of Robersonville and Rufus Harris of Idaho; sister Maggie Bagera of Rocky Mount; special niece, Carolyn Hardison; grandchildren, Shawn Goddard (Shawnice), Brandon Goddard (Brittany), Dre Evans, Johnny Cunningham (Nancy), Thomas Cunningham, Matthew Cunningham, Juan Baker, Jamie Baker, Justin Leggett (Katelyn), Wesley "Bud" Baker, Jr., Shayne Baker and Brian "BooBoo" Baker; great grandchildren, seven.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Walker Chapel with Pastor Brad Crumpler officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
