Tony Ralph Whitaker, 56 of Cooper Hill Rd. died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Vidant Impatient Hospice in Greenville.

Tony was born on April 9, 1962 in Bertie County to the late Ralph Whitaker and Ruth Askew Whitaker who survives. He was a 1980 graduate of Bertie High School, and worked as a self-employed concrete specialist prior to his illness.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. J.N. Baggett and Rev. Bob Skeens officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Gary Hughes, Steve Askew, Brian Askew, John White, Ronald Eubanks, Darryl Hughes, and Brent Askew.

Survivors in addition to his mother include one son, Tony Ralph (TJ) Whitaker Jr. of Williamston; sisters, Carolyn Whitaker and Pam White of Windsor and Sharon Stevie Rose of Conway; one brother, Randy Whitaker also of Windsor; and several nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (12:00-1:00 PM) at Walker Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lawrence Baptist Church 1043 Cooper Hill Rd. Windsor, NC. 27983
