Timothy Earl Mizelle 65, of Exter Road, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his home. He was born in Norfolk, VA December 24, 1957, to the late Doris White and Rev. Hubert Mizelle and was predeceased by brothers, Rev. Hugh "Ducie" Mizelle, Rev. Al Mizelle.

Tim retired from the US Coast Guard with 23 years of service where he received many medals and commendations. One special medal was received during Operation Deep Freeze was the Antarctica Service Medal with a bronze star. After his service, he became a teacher. He taught at Bertie High School, Hertford County High School, and Ahoskie Christian School.

He was an active member of Elm Grove Baptist where he served in many roles: Chairman of the Deacons, Sunday School Teacher, choir member and mission's team member. Tim enjoyed fishing, playing music and blade smithing.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Elm Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Preston Jernigan will officiate. A burial with military honors will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Donna M. Mizelle of the home; son, Daniel Mizelle of Colerain; daughter, Karen Lassiter and husband, Andy of Aulander; brother, Mike Mizelle (Lorraine) of South Mills; grandchildren, Caroline and Anthony Lassiter; mother-in-law, Joyce Ann Mizelle and sisters-in-law, Rita Mizelle and Brenda Mizelle.
