Thomas "Tommy" Russell Baker, 76, of Pocosin Road, died Saturday October 17, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.  He was born in Hertford County March 17, 1944 to the late Milton and Norma Powell Baker and was predeceased by a daughter, Donna B. Beane.  Tommy was a member of Askewville Baptist Church.  He loved fishing, hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan.  He was retired as a market manager with Food Lion and loved keeping up with advanced technology.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Askewville Baptist Church. Rev. Zack Hicks will officiate.  Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years,  Edna Matthews Baker of the home; daughters,

Delores Barnes and husband, Dan of Orlando, FL, Amy Jeffords and husband Chris of Durham, NC; brother, Larry Baker and wife Mary of Williamsburg, VA, sister, Betty Hare and husband, Van of Tyner, NC; son-in-law, Wes Beane of Hudson, NC grandchildren, Brittany Barnes, Carter, Dawson, Isaac, Jeremiah, and Seth Beane.

The family will receive friends following the committal service at the cemetery and from the home at other times.  Memorial gifts may be made to Askewville Baptist Church, 110 E. Askewville Street, Windsor, NC 27983.
