Dateline: Colerain, NC

Sylvia Marie Tedona (née Trobiano) of Colerain, NC, formerly of Waldwick and Hamburg, NJ, Peacefully left our world on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 after a long life, richly lived.

Sylvia affectionally know as "Momma" to her family, was born to John Trobiano and Sally Trobiano (nee Olsen)  on June 11, 1934 in Hackensack, NJ. Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Tedona; her parents; her brother, John  A. Trobiano; and her son-in-law, Mark Guenthner.

She is survived by her children; Elsie Guenthner; John Tedona and his wife Emilia; and Randi Zdanek and her husband Paul. She is also has left behind 9 grandchildren.

Sylvia was a kind and loving person who was cherished among family and friends. She known for her quick wit and humor and was proud of her Italian/Norwegian heritage. She loved all animals and enjoyed bird watching, reading, attending Broadway shows and traveling, especially to her favorite place, Cape Cod. The Cape held a very special place in her heart and she graciously shared her cottage there with family and friends.

She was known for throwing large, traditional Italian meals during holidays, complete with all of the courses and driving with the petal to the metal !! But as her need for speed was a joke among her family, she always made sure to pace her life, slowly, with purpose, cherishing every last moment.

While Sylvia's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit and memory will continue to resonate with those who loved her.

A private celebration of life will be held with immediate family at Sylvia's beloved Cape Cod.
