Steven Douglas Daniels 71, of Graham Street, was born in Bertie County, son of Jay and Melba Daniels. He was predeceased by a brother, Jeff Daniels in 2014.  Steve served in the Air Force for four years and was always proud of his military service.  He graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Chemistry and had a long career as a textile chemist before ending his career as a chemist with the Division of Air Quality.  He was an avid ECU Pirate and so proud of the purple and gold.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Greenville; daughter, Leslie of Portland OR; son, Corey (Melissa) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Abigail, Ryan, Eli and Mia Hoffmann, brother, Emmett (Becky) of Bertie County, nephews, Wesley, Jay, Jayson and their families; sister-in-law, Rose Daniels of Apex.

A memorial service will be held Thursday August 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Walker Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Wesley Daniels will officiate.  A private interment will follow after the reception.
