Stephen Wayne Dickens, 66, of Grace Street Williamston, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday October 12, 2025.

Stephen was born on February 26, 1959 to Johnny Warren Dickens and Barbara Jean Briley Dickens. He graduated from Williamston High School in 1977. He played tennis during school and continued to teach it later in life. The first to crack a joke, one of his true passions in life was making others smile and laugh, even during the toughest of times. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the beach, listening to classic rock, and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Briley Dickens.

Survivors in addition to his father Johnny Warren Dickens are his brother Johnny Warren Dickens Jr. (Karen), his sister Cheryl Dickens Love; five children: Jennipher Dickens (Tim), Kaitlyn Reinertson (Kevin), Ashley Cloe (Linwood), Michael Manning (Leslie) and Jason Harrington (Ashley); and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October, 15, 2025 at the Walker Funeral Home, chapel with pastor George Powell officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the same location, and other times at the home.
