Obituary

Stephanie Clair Perry, 44, passed away at home surrounded by her family Friday, January 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Stephanie was born on May 12, 1979 in Ahoskie, North Carolina to George Steven and Deborah Callis Perry. She graduated from Hertford County High School in 1997 and lived in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.

She worked at Oasis Day Spa and instantly formed close friendships with her coworkers and clients. She loved spending time with her many dear friends, especially going to the beach, the river, concerts and music festivals. She loved flowers and enjoyed caring for her plants, of which she amassed an incredible collection. She was a devoted fan of the band Widespread Panic and made special memories with her sister, cousins and friends at Panic concerts over the years.

She was the friend who would be by your side immediately when called. She had a loud, infectious laugh and was the life of every party. She had a free and nurturing spirit and loved and cared for the children of her friends, many of whom affectionately called her Aunt Stephy. She truly loved meeting new people and became fast friends with everyone she met.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, H. Randolph and Helen Clair Perry, and maternal grandparents, Charles Louis Callis and Jean Jernigan Callis. She is survived by her parents, Steve and Deborah Perry, sister and brother-in-law Megan Perry Askew and Joe, adored nephews Caden and Brycen Askew, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and her beloved dog, Sam.

A graveside service will be held in Stephanie's honor at 11:00 am on January 18th at Perry Family Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Colerain Baptist Church immediately following.

We invite you to make a donation to The Glioblastoma Foundation or The McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge in Greenville in Stephanie's memory.
