Shirley White Spivey, 89, of South King Street Windsor, NC, died Sunday May 5, 2019. Born November 18, 1929 to the late Jesse Webster White and Elsie White White, she was a graduate of former Windsor High School and later married the love of her life Robert 'Bob' Spivey on December 25, 1947. Mrs. Spivey was a longtime member of Cashie Baptist Church where she served as pianist/organist for many, many years. Above all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday May 7, 2019 at Cashie Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Tarkington officiating. Entombment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Berke Spivey, Braxton White, Adam Waters, Ashley Beacham, Steve White, and Jay White.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM in the fellowship hall of the church, and other times at the home.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Spivey was preceded in death by two brothers: Wade White, and Frentress White. Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Debra Spivey Jernigan of Edenton, Gwen Spivey White and husband Tom of Kill Devil Hills, and one son, James Lowell Spivey of Kitty Hawk. Other survivors include one sister, Catherine White Speller of Windsor; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, ten great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be directed to Cashie Baptist church 221 S. Queen St. Windsor, NC. 27983, or the charity of the donors choice.
