Shirley Haddock
Jones
May 26, 1935 — Jun 23, 2024
Washington
Ms. Shirley Ann Haddock Jones, 89, a resident of the Rosedale community of Washington, transitioned to glory on Sunday, June 23, 2024, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, at her residence.
On November 1,1948, she married the love of her life, Jesse Taylor Jones. Together with family, they owned and operated Jones Brothers floor covering for over 50 years. Their lives were richly blessed when their children Loretta and Jay came into their lives. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved and prayed for her family by name nightly. She was an avid animal lover who never met an animal she didn't love. She loved to travel and talk to friends and family on the phone. To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank CC Bowen, her caregiver, who she loved and appreciated, Rodney Hicks for being a special friend in her life and Debbie Rouse with Linda's Flowers for the beautiful casket cover and the other flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Jones Adkins and her husband David Adkins of Ellenton, FL.; son, Jay Jones of the home; grandchildren, Jason Taylor Wells and wife Tonja Wells of Greenville, Jeremy and Danielle Wells of Bath, Krystal, Rebekah, and Jessica Jones of Washington; great grandchildren, Taylor Wells, Ross Jones, Olivia Wells, and Ella Wells.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 11:30 AM at The Cave, located at 1114 Bridge Street, Washington with Jay Jones, and Jason Wells officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Charles Boyd, Johnny Warner, Devon Mish, Jamie Jones, Bernie Jones, and Ray Lilley will serve as pallbearers. Timothy Brickley, Jacob Winters, Jimmy Gurganus, Rodney Hicks, and Tommy Lilley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the same location and other times at her home on Cowan Dr., Washington.
Walker Funeral Home of Williamston is honored to serve the Jones family.
