Shirley Dale Chesson Goff, 72 of NC Hwy 142, died Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at her daughter's home.

Ms. Goff was born on February 1, 1950, in Washington County to the late Joseph Monroe and Desi Marie Phelps Chesson. She was retired as a secretary from Walter Goff Electric and Plumbing. Shirley was a member of the Hassell Pentecostal FWB Church. She loved horses, being with her family, shopping, gardening, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jackson Goff.

Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Roberson (Norman) of Robersonville and Jackie Raynor (Kevin) of Hamilton; son, Walter Jackson Goff, Jr. (Suzanne) of Oak City; brother, Jack Chesson of Florida; sister, Linda Alligood of Plymouth; grandchildren, six; great grandchildren, five.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Hassell Pentecostal FWB Church with Pastor Brad Crumpler and Pastor Marvin Warfe officiating. Burial will follow in Robersonville Cemetery. Kevin Raynor, Dylan Goff, Tyler Bisson, J.C. Jackson, Cody Hardison, and Jackson Roberson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service and other times from the home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hassell Pentecostal FWB Church, PO Box 117, Hassell, NC 27841.
