Shirley May Schweickert Fowler, 89 of Confederate St., died at her home on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Shirley was born on December 1, 1934, in Washington, DC to the late William Cole and Bessie Meeks Schweickert. She was a homemaker and a member of Cashie Baptist Church. Shirley was an avid doll collector and loved crocheting and knitting. She loved to cook and loved music. Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Honor III, her second husband, Mervin Benjamin Fowler, and her brother, Jerry Schweickert.

Survivors include; son, Jeffrey Honor of Raleigh, NC; daughters, Lisa Street of Winterville, NC and Paulette Collier of Columbia, MD; brother, Roger Schweickert of Sparta, NC; grandchildren, Seven; great grandchildren, Eight; her beloved cats, Windsor and Grayson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Walker Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stafford Beasley and Roger Schweickert officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times from the home.
