Sherman Curfew Mizelle, 83, died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Sentara Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC.  He was born in Bertie County January 24, 1938 to the late Crufew and Eva Johnson Mizelle and was predeceased by brothers, Federal and Charles Mizelle. Sherman worked at Lea Lumber Company for many years.

At his request, no services are planned.

Survivors include his son, Sterling Sherman Mizelle of Williamston; brother, Douglas Mizelle of Colerain; sisters, Ellen Rose Hughes and Beulah Jernigan both of Colerain, Kathy Gibson and husband, William of Williamston.
