Sharon Claudia Lilley Thompson went to her heavenly home on June 15th at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville after a short battle with gastric cancer. She was a passionate follower of Jesus, a devoted wife and mother, and a giver to her family, friends, and community.

Sharon was born to her loving parents, Virginia Price Lilley and the late John Edwin Lilley. She grew up in Jamesville, NC with her beloved siblings Debbie Roberson (Bruce), Edwin Lilley (Jamie), and Danny Lilley (Jamie), and her special cousins Allison Stone (Duke), Victor Lilley (Jamie), and Amy Edwards (Hank), children of her Aunt Alice Ruth and the late Uncle Bill Lilley. Her Price and Lilley families were so important to her.

She graduated from Jamesville High School in 1976, and afterwards worked at Weyerhaeuser in transportation.

A great adventure began when she met Stanley Thompson and married him in 1984. They were married for 36 years before his death in 2021. She became a part of the family of the late Harry and Loretta Thompson, and formed a close bond with Thompson siblings Pat Taylor (Frank), JeNell Dilday (Kelly), and Vic Thompson (Nancy).

For over 30 years, Stanley and Sharon built and managed several business enterprises together.

Sharon was a devoted and loving mother to their children, Sarah Tyson (Matt), Clinton Thompson (Roxie), and Robert Thompson (Maggie). She was thankful for her children's supportive and loving spouses. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandboys: Walter, Fitz, Everett, Hayes, and Hal. She took on the role of 'Sherrie' with gusto, and was a fun and loving grandmother.

Sharon was an indescribably kind, encouraging, and giving person to her family, friends and community. She was a prayer warrior, a mentor to many and an esteemed member of her adopted Windsor community. Her most valued relationship was the one with her savior Jesus Christ.

A celebration of life will be held at Cashie Baptist Church on Sunday, June 18th at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
