Samuel Wynn Taylor, Sr.  79, of East Circle Drive, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro. He was born in Martin County to the late John Henry and Clero Wynn Taylor and predeceased by sisters, Emma Jean Edmondson and Ethel Coburn Taylor and brothers, Elton Taylor and John Henry Taylor, Jr.  Sam was the owner and operator of T & B Bulldozer Services.  He was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ and the Hamilton Gun Club.  He was also an insurance agent with United Insurance Co for 15 years.  Sam was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Walker Funeral Chapel in Williamston.  Rev. James Hutchinson and Rev. Storm Rush will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hilda Arnold Taylor of the home; sons, Samuel W. Taylor, Jr. and wife Scarlett of Ludowici, GA, Jeffery G. Taylor and wife Mary Ann of Hamilton; "special daughter", Tina Scott and husband Jimmy; sister, Lela Mae Whitfield of Hamilton; brothers Curtis Taylor of Williamston and Glenn Taylor of Stokes; grandchildren, Miranda, Mark, Phillip, Coey, Ashley, Katie, Mary and Jamie and 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday July 9 ^th from 6-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston and from the home at other times.  Memorial gifts may be made to either the Hamilton Church of Christ, 204 N. Front Street, Hamilton, NC 27840 or to the America Cancer Society, 903 Wellness Drive # B, Greenville, NC 27834.
