Sam Henry Rawls, Sr., 84 of Louise Street, died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Rawls was born on March 31, 1937 in Pitt County to the late James Kader and Syble Bullock Rawls. He owned and operated Sam's Service Center in Robersonville for 33 years. Sam was member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a board member, deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader. Sam was a charter member of the Robersonville Rescue Squad and served 14 years, he was also a member of the Robersonville Fire Department. He was preceded in death by brother James Clifton Rawls and sisters, Doris R. Nicholson, and Margie Rogerson.

Survivors include; wife, Louise Brown Rawls of the home; son, Sam Henry "Sammy" Rawls, Jr. (Lydia) of Robersonville; daughter, Debra Rawls Whitehurst (John T.) of Stokes; grandchildren, John and Michael Whitehurst, Jamie and Marsha Rawls; great grandchildren, Matthew and Makayla Whitehurst, Landon Rawls, Jacob Whitehurst, Aiden and Caroline Mobley, Jackson Rawls, Conner Rawls, Ally and Sadie.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Chris Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church, Scholarship Fund, 1248 Tyner Rd. Williamston, NC 27892.
