It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Sallie Rae Bland Hutchinson, age 84, of Thoroughfare Road who passed away early Friday morning May 1, 2026, peacefully at home with her husband and family by her side.

Mrs. Hutchinson was born June 30,1941 in Rich Square to Edna Meeks Bland and Harry Augustus Bland. She graduated from High School and later married the love of her life, Dalton Randolph Hutchinson on June 25, 1959 (sixty-six) years of marriage. They had two children. Sallie was a mother, and proud military wife for many years, and later worked as a teacher's assistant for Martin County Schools for forty years and was a faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and sewing.

Sallie was predeceased by her parents Edna and Harry Bland, and one sister, Helen Hagen. Survivors include: her loving husband Dalton Randolph Hutchinson; one son, Bruce Randall Hutchinson (Lisa) of Williamston, and one daughter, Angela Hutchinson Keel (Ronnie) also of Williamston; one brother, Harry Bland Jr, (Doris) of Greenville; and one sister, Patricia Tedder (Jimmy) of Fuquay-Varina, NC. Other survivors include her three grandchildren: Bruce Martin Hutchinson, Elizabeth Marie Hardison and Faith Bland; and two great grandchildren: Meadow Ray Place and James Martin Hutchinson.

Funeral services will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM with pastor, Larry Stevens officiating and special music provided by Jo Ann Josie. Burial will follow in the Hobgood Cemetery with Bruce Martin Hutchinson and the church deacons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM and other times at home.
