Ms. Ruth Keel Farmer 83, a resident of Williamston died Friday January 11, 2019 at Vidant Edgecombe.

Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, of Williamston from 6:00 TO 8:00 PM  Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Boyette-Everette Family Cemetery in Robersonville, with Reverend Doug Knox officiating.

Ruth was born on September 22, 1935 to the late Mary Elizabeth Boyette Keel and Woodrow Hilton Keel. On August 14, 1954 she married John Oscar Farmer who preceded her in death in 2001. She was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed doing puzzles.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Joyner; sisters, Patricia Wynn and Louise Corey; brothers, William Bryant, John David Keel, and James Howard Keel; and one grandson.

Survivors include: her daughter, Sue Coburn of Winterville; sons, Robert Taylor of Caryville, TN, and John Farmer Jr. of Washington; sisters, Ann Curtis, Jennell Price, Shirley Gardner, and brother Hilton Keel Jr. all of Williamston; also surviving are four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her very special friend, Ann Cherry, of Williamston.
