Obituary

Dateline: Ahoskie, NC

Roy Earl Hague, age 74, passed away on November 28, 2020 at his home in Ahoskie, NC.  He was born July 2, 1946 to the late Frank and Margaret Hague and preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Bobby Hague.  He is survived by his two daughters, Amy Hague Brown (Eric) of Chesapeake, VA, and April Hague Evans (David) of Elizabeth City, NC., 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Roy was a retired welder with Iron Workers Local Union 79 and would often point out all the things he helped build in the Hampton Roads Area and up and down the east coast.  He would quickly ask you if you have ever been to Busch Gardens, then gladly tell you he helped build the Loch Ness Monster.  He took great pride in volunteering for Relay for Life and the parolee outreach program.

He had an easy going way and never met a stranger.  He loved to talk and talked loud he did.  He was a great carpenter and loved working outside helping his family on the farm.  He was always working, fixing, or just finding something to occupy his time. If someone needed help, he would drop what he was doing and go lend a hand.  You would never catch him sitting for long at any given time.

He will be forever loved and missed.

There will be a memorial service for Roy at Victory Baptist Church in Elizabeth City,  NC, Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11 am.  Pastor R.L. Parker and Pastor Kevin Senn will be officiating the service.
