Rose Yeates Jones, 96 of E. Taylor St., died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at ECU Bertie Hospital.

Rose was born on April 6, 1927, in Buchanan County, Va. to the late Stewart and Sarah Canady Coleman. She was a retired  nurse at the Hamilton Baptist Home. Rose was a faithful and dedicated member of Hamilton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Weston Yeates and Sam Jones; son, David Lee Yeates, brothers, Dayton, Bill, Trinkle, Larence and French Coleman, and sister, Maggie Desorda.

Survivors include: Loyal and Shirley Sawyer, David and Amy Sawyer, Mary Ann and Jeffrey Taylor, and her caregiver Allanda Lee; daughter in law Stacy Yeates.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at the Hamilton Cemetery with Rev. Chris Minton officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the Hamilton Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
