Robert Ernest Leigh (Bob), 86 passed away on August 7, 2023, at his home peacefully with his family by his side.

Robert was born on January 15, 1937, in Lowell, Mass. Robert was the youngest of 9 children. He was the son of Alfred and Olive Collins Leigh. Robert will reside by his late wife, Sandra Waterfield Leigh, his youngest daughter, Robin Gail (Leigh) Jandy and his granddaughter Tabatha Lynn Fauteux, as well as his parents and siblings.

Robert served 20 plus years in the Navy (USS Saratoga) with an honorable discharge in 1974. He fought in the Vietnam war with honors for his country and then resided in Plymouth, NC. He also served his community as a Plymouth Police Officer and with the Washington County Sheriffs Office as a Deputy for many years and then became a Magistrate, the Honorable Robert E.Leigh, again with honors.

When Robert retired, he loved to coach his daughter's softball teams. For many years he was their coach and loved every game. He loved watching NASCAR races and cheering his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. Bob loved to travel to N.H. in his camper as much as he could to visit his family and daughters.

Robert had six children, all of them beautiful daughters: oldest to youngest Tammy A & Joe Rackliff, Shelia J. & Guy Fauteux, Sharyl P. & Steven Desruisseau, Jodi L. & David Boutin, Jennifer S. & Jeff Campbell and the late Robin Gail Handy. Nineteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The Honorable Robert E. Leigh is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Thank you to Gentiva Hospice for all their kindness, support and help through this hard and difficult time, for helping our family and making our dad comfortable in his last days.

The family will have a private gathering, per Mr. Leigh's wishes.
