Robert "Big Bob" Russell Leggett, 57, of 1226 Sterlingworth Street, died Monday November 5, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. He was born in Bertie County August 1, 1961 to Jane Hays Leggett and Gilbert Leggett.  Big Bob was a farmer and former volunteer fire fighter.  He served his country in the National Guard.

Funeral services will be held Thursday November 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Askewville Assembly of God. Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr. will officiate.  Burial with military honors will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Purnell Leggett of the home; daughters, Michelle Leggett (Josh), Brook Ray (Andy): step-daughter, Beth Beachboard (Jeremiah); mother, Jane Hays Leggett; father, Gilbert Leggett (Phillis); brother, Mark Leggett; step brother, Shane Leggett; sister, Lynn Keel; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Chase, Noah, Rachel and Joshua all of Windsor.

The family will receive friends Wednesday November 7, 2018 at Walker Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 PM and from the home at other times.
