Robert "Bennie" Benjamin Griffin, 69 of E. Pine St., died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at ECU Health Medical Center.

Bennie was born on May 22, 1953, in Martin County to the late Hubert Dossie and Charlotte Hazel Stalls Griffin. He was retired from retail sales, having worked with Sunbeam Bread, Wonder Bread, and Lance.

Bennie was a member of the Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as an Elder. He enjoyed reading his Bible and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. In his younger years he was an avid softball player and bowler. Bennie loved his family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Stalls and father-in-law, Bill Elks.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Elks Griffin of the home; son, Justin Griffin (Ashley) of Williamston; daughter, Kellee Ring (Andrew) of Willow Springs; brother, Henry Griffin (Dinah) of Lumberton; sister, Penny Bryant (Allen) of Williamston; mother-in-law, Jeannette Elks of Williamston; grandchildren, Mariah, Nathan and Kassidy Griffin, Jaxson and Finlee Ring, Jacey Willoughby, and Braxton Hope; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Roger Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the church and other times from the home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 N. Haughton Street, Williamston, NC 27892.
