Rita Hardison Barber Harden, 92 of US Hwy 17, died Monday, January 10, 2022, at her home.

Rita was born on May 21, 1929, in Washington County to the late Garland and Ruth Chesson Hardison. She owned and operated along with her husband Macon, Barber's Upholstery Shop in Jamesville. Rita was a member of Macedonia Christian Church. She was a member of the Jamesville Women's Club, Sunday School and Bible school teacher at Cedar Branch Baptist Church and Macedonia Christian Church; she sang in the choir at Macedonia and was the treasurer of her Sunday School class. Rita was preceded in death by her husbands, Macon Barber and James Harden; son, Garland Barber, and sister, Gail Hardison, and Amy Dail (Gary) of Chinquapin; son, Grant Barber of Williamston; daughter-in- law, Denise Barber of Williamston; grandchildren, Lindsay, Kasey, and Shane; great grandchildren, four.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Christian Church with Rev. Greg Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Macedonia Christian Church, 7640 US Hwy 17 Williamston, NC 27892.
