Rhoda Hoggard Taylor, 71 of Mulberry Street, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at ECU Inpatient Hospice.

Rhoda was born on September 1, 1951, in Bertie County, to the late Robert Ray and Dorothy Crisp Hoggard, who later married Lloyd Early, Jr.  She was a Registered Nurse for 30 plus years. Rhoda was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church; she loved the mountains in the fall and loved doing arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her son, Troy Darrell Taylor, brother, Timothy Hoggard, Sr. and brother-in-law, Alfred Marion Taylor, Sr.

Survivors include; husband, Jimmy D. Taylor of the home; daughter, Tracey Taylor Dysart (Fred) of Williamston; brothers, Joseph Rando Hoggard, Sr. of Greenville and Robert Ray "Butch" Hoggard, Sr. of GA., sister, Joy Hoggard Brickhouse of Edenton; grandchildren, Jamie Lloyd Dysart, Kely Hudson Dysart and Brennan Troy Dysart; great grandchildren, Rockwel Hasty and Juliana Leggett; sisters-in-law, Lorre Taylor Hopkins, Tammy Taylor Moore, Susan Taylor Griffin and Kay Taylor Wiggins; bonus daughters, Melinda Rae Travis and Paige Keel Brock.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Matthews and Rev. Roger Leggett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and other times from the home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Williamston Fire/Rescue, 901 Washington Street, Williamston, NC 27892.
