Rena Lassiter Mizelle, 93, of Elm Grove Road, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, at her home. Rena was born in Bertie County November 8, 1928, to the late Joseph Linwood and Lettie Hoggard Lassiter. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Fentress Mizelle; sister, Virgie L. Hill; brothers, Joseph Lee Lassiter, Ferebee Lassiter, Daniel Lassiter; son-in-law, Hugh Mizelle. Rena was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church of over 80 years. She graduated from Mars Hill High School.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Elm Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Preston Jernigan and Rev. Rick Lowery will officiate. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.

Survivors include her daughter, Rita M. Mizelle; sons, Timmy Mizelle and wife Jennifer, Faron Mizelle and wife Cheryl all of Colerain; grandchildren, Ginger Dawson , Jill Evans (Les), Jeremy Dawson (Anna), Brian Mizelle (Sarah), Hunter Mizelle (Callie), Adam Mizelle (Sarah), Jordan Parker (Brian), Jody Mizelle; great-grandchildren, Matt, Katie, Logan, Karsyn, Bentley, Fenn, Grayson, Harrison, Cassidy, Kip, Liam; great-great-grandchild, Audrey.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 11 ^th from 6-7:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home and from the home at other times.
