Raymond Merle Castelloe, 84 of US Hwy 13 North, died Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Chowan River Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Castelloe was born September 13, 1937, in Bertie County to the late John Raymond and Rosa Edna White Castelloe. He worked for Lee Lumber company for 40 years and was a member of the Windsor Assembly of God. Mr. Castelloe loved woodworking, gardening, yardwork and loved to travel. He served in the NC National Guard for 25 years. Mr. Castelloe was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Elizabeth Pierce Castelloe, whom he married on February 15, 1957, a son David Merle Castelloe, and two brothers, Floyd and Stanley Castelloe.

Survivors include his son, William Castelloe (Kay) of Edenton; sister, Carolyn Hill of Windsor; grandchildren, Brian Castelloe of Old Fort, Samantha Castelloe (Fiancée John Abney) of Lithonia, GA; great grandchildren, Siren Kole Castelloe, Jaxen Castelloe and Vincent -Illyrian Abney.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Gray officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
