Raleigh Frank Hughes, Jr. 62, of Bakertown Road, died September 3. 2018 at Vidant Bertie Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bertie County January 23, 1956 to Doris Suis Hughes and the late Raleigh Frank Hughes, Sr.  Raleigh was a carpenter by trade.

A memorial service will be held Friday September 7, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Chapel. Rev. David Baker will officiate.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Suis Hughes of Windsor; son, Thomas Charles Hughes of PA; sister, Kim Baker and husband, Frank of Windsor; brothers, Jed Hughes and wife Ellen of Merry Hill, Jock Hughes of Wilmington and Jim Hughes of Greenville; two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service Friday, September 7 ^th at the funeral home and from 532 Bakertown Road at other times.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Capeharts Baptist Church Building Fund, % Dennis Brooks, 2134 US 17 North, Merry Hill, NC 27957 or to Merry Hill-Midway Fire Dept., 109 NC 45 North, Merry Hill, NC 27957.
