Peggy Hannah Shearin, age 70, a resident of Jack Cowan Rd. Williamston, died Friday March 20, 2020 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Martin Memorial Gardens, with Chris Watkins officiating.

Peggy was born in Martin County, on September 11, 1949 to the late Carl and Melba Peele Hannah. After working to obtain her G.E.D.  and a degree in cosmetology from Martin Community College, she worked as a hairdresser in Bear Grass for many years. She attended Wesleyan College where she earned a Master's in Education, and a Bachelor of Arts for Justice and Public Policy, she worked with Halifax County Schools for several years with special needs children. On April 12, 1986 she married Marvin Shearin Sr. who preceded he in death in 2006. Peggy attend Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved shopping, cooking, and playing solitaire.

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn Conner, and one brother, Ronald Hannah. Survivors include, her daughter, Yvette Harrison Wynne (David) of Williamston; and her son, Justin Harrison (Jackie) of Bear Grass; Four grandchildren, Jacob and Graci Wynne, and Reid and Dylan Harrison. Other survivors include one sister, Barbara Frizzelle of Ayden, three brothers, Wayne Hannah of Bethel, Tim Hannah of Blackjack, and Eric Hannah of Bear Grass.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, and travel to the cemetery in procession. The family will receive friends' other times at the home of her daughter and son-law on Sweet Home Rd.
