Peggy Jean Peaks Heath, 87, of Governor Eden House Road, Merry Hill, died December 27, 2023, at her sister's home in Williamston, NC. Peggy was born September 25, 1936, to the late Thurman Kenneth Peaks and Velma Ree Williams Peaks. Mrs. Heath was a loving mother and sister, a faithful member of Merry Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her yard.  Peggy worked as a Registered Nurse at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, VA for many years.  She is preceded in death by her best friend and husband, Dudley Lester Heath; her brother, Roland Ward Peaks; sister, Ramona Kay Peaks; and granddaughter, Amber Lee (Heath) Hernandez.

A funeral service will be held, Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Merry Hill Baptist Church, Merry Hill, NC. The Rev. Charles Swanner will officiate. A burial will follow at the Whitaker-Bingham Family Cemetery in Bear Grass, NC.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Stewart (David) of the home; son, Kevin Wayne Heath (Anne) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Andrew B. Belding, and Jasmine Marie Heath; great grandchild, Finley Grace Belding; sisters, Patricia Bingham of Bear Grass and Carol Whitaker of Everetts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2024, at Merry Hill Baptist Church, and other times from the home. Memorial gifts may be made to Merry Hill Baptist Church, 402 Old Merry Hill Road, Merry Hill, NC  27957.
