Patricia Faye Orvis, 85, of Williamston, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Born on February 3, 1941, Patricia was one of eleven children. She was of the Baptist faith. On August 13, 1960, Patricia married Ronald Arthur Orvis. Throughout their 66 years of marriage, they were inseparable, sharing a lifetime of love, family, and adventures. Patricia and Ronald spent most of their married life in Starksboro, Vermont, where they owned and operated Split Rock Farm. Together, they raised four children while working side by side on their homestead.

Patricia was a member of the Vermont Sugar Makers Association and served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Bristol Volunteer Rescue Squad in Bristol, Vermont. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and researching her family genealogy. Patricia and Ronald also shared a love of traveling. Following retirement, they traveled throughout the United States in their RV. After selling their farm, they moved to Ava, Missouri, and later relocated to Williamston, North Carolina, in August 2024.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ronald Arthur Orvis. She is also survived by her children, Ronieta Downey and husband Joe of Starksboro, Vermont; Gerald “Jerry” Orvis and wife Sheri of Williamston, North Carolina; and Jamie Orvis and wife Cheryl of Starksboro, Vermont.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Faircloth, whose husband, Dan, resides in Starksboro, Vermont.

Patricia is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Downey and wife Danielle, Karen Preston and husband Burton, Emily Douglas and Taylor Mozingo, Ashlee Mott and her husband Daniel, Mark Faircloth and wife Jocelyn, and Joseph “JJ” Downey and wife Nicole.

She was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren: Emma and Noah Downey, Jacob Preston, Harper and Waylon Mozingo, Madison, Ian, Xander and Livia, Zoe and Griffin Faircloth, and Aubrey Downey.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Orvis.

Patricia is survived by four siblings: Shirley and Mary of Missouri, Jim of North Carolina, and David of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by six siblings: Richard, Dale, Donnie, Marty, Linda, and Carol.

Patricia will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her passion for quilting and the life she shared with Ronald. 

Her memory will live on through the family she loved and the generations she leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday October 29, 2026 at the Walker Funeral Home,  Chapel in Williamston at 1: 00 PM. The family will recieve friends one hour prior to the service.
