Ola Perry, 89 died Friday, February 7, 2020 at The Fountains at the Albemarle. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 3 pm in the Bethel United Methodist Church officiated by the Reverend Dennis Peay. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.

Mrs. Perry was born on September 15, 1930 to the late Reba Whitehurst Edmondson and Mance Marvin Edmondson of Bethel. She graduated from Bethel High School, attended Greensboro College and was a graduate of East Carolina University. For 34 years she worked with the Pitt County Schools serving as teacher and administrator. She was an active and loyal member of the Bethel United Methodist Church serving the church as a choir member, the choir director, and a member of several church boards. Her service was for her Lord, Jesus.

Believing community service was important, after she retired she tutored in the school and was involved in several civic clubs of the community.

She was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. Each one was very special and dear to her. Her sons, daughter-in-law and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delton E. Perry and her daughter-in-law Mabel J. Perry.

She is survived by her sons, David D. Perry of Salta, Argentina and Ken S. Perry of Bethel; grandchildren Stuart Kyle Perry, Christopher David Perry, Oriana Belen Perry, Selena Nell Perry and Delton David Perry; one great grandson Juan Bautista Goldringer; a special sister Janie E. Manning of Bethel; niece Kim Evans and husband Jimmy and family; nephew Lee Manning and wife Libby and family.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Bethel United Methodist Church from 2 – 3 pm.

The family would like to thank Calvin Carmack and Linda Andrews for their years of friendship and service. Also Jerry Howell who washed and looked after Mrs. Perry's vehicles for many years. Luther Harrell who looked after repairing her vehicles. Frankie Williams who always came when called for help with trees and bushes. Mary Lee Benjamin also helped when her sons were growing up. Also Lorraine Pitt and Reneese Pitt who have helped the last few years.
