Ned Jackson "Jack" Hoggard, 78, of Cooper Hill Road died Monday, October 13, 2025, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville with his wife by his side.  Jack was born in Bertie County on November 5, 1946, to the late Grover Scott Hoggard and Annie Louis Langdale Hoggard.  Mr. Jack retired twice, once as a supervisor from Mac Paper Company and again from the Tyrrell County Prison System.  He was also a certified EMT for Bertie County EMS and Bertie Ambulance Services. He was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing and most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Hoggard was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Ray McDonald "Don" Hoggard and Scotty Hoggard; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack is survived by his wife, Delinda Bass Hoggard of the home; son, Brian Layden (Natalie); two daughters, Tonya Jones (Glen) and Scarlet Bennett (Mason); sister, Ann Hoggard Haislip (Doc); nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Lawrence Baptist Church, 1043 Cooper Hill Road in Windsor with Pastor Charles Swanner officiating.
