Nannie Gray Dew Butler passed away peacefully on Tuesday, at December 4, 2018, at her residence.   She was born March 21, 1938 in Edgecomb County to the late Willie Dew and Anna Summerline Dew.  Nannie was married to the late William Earl Butler who preceded her in death on June 3, 1994. Mrs. Butler was a retired inspector with Carolina Enterprize in Tarboro, NC. and was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a Bethel resident most of her life.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son, William Earl Butler, Jr., two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Butler Foreman of Bethel, Earline Butler of Greenville, N.C., and one son Samuel Lee Butler also of Bethel, N.C. Nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
