Myrtle White Ward, 85 of 202 N. Edgewood Ave. died August 22, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Ward was born on October 6, 1932 in Bertie County to the late Paul White and Beatrice Brown White. She was retired from Sprint as a work assignment specialist. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers Vernon White, Hubert White and Leonard White; sisters, Grace Askew, Pauline Turner and Susie Miller.

Survivors include her husband, Hubert Franklin Ward, Sr. of the home; son, Hubert Franklin "Frankie" Ward, Jr. of Williamston; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Ward of Stokes; brother, Jesse Vann White of Tarboro; sister, Elizabeth White of Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 3:00 PM at West End Baptist Church with Rev. Kenton Dover officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive Friday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home in Williamston and other times from the home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Williamston Fire/Rescue, 901 Washington St. Williamston, NC 27892.
