Milton Bond Tadlock, age 87, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Milton was born on November 24, 1935 to the late Lewis Bond (LB) and Inez Evans Tadlock of the Woodard Community. Milton was a faithful, long-time member of Cashie Baptist Church, where he served as deacon over the years, a member of the Men's Choir and he was a dependable servant in his church. He loved his church family. Milton frequently visited church members and friends, especially if they were in hospitals or nursing facilities. Milton was a member of Cashie Country Club in his younger years, and he enjoyed playing golf. Milton worked for over 42 years as an industrial engineer with LEA Industries in Windsor. During his tenure, he received safety and community service awards. In addition to his full-time job, Milton operated Tadlock's Snack Bar. He was an avid ECU fan and he, along with a group of buddies, had season tickets for many years. Milton was the last of the original group of the "ECU Boy's". He enjoyed breakfast with his crew in the mornings. Milton served in the National Guard for 9 years. He was a devoted member of the Lion's Club and in 2015, he received recognition for serving over 50 years in the organization. Milton served as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years and he also served as a volunteer for the Bertie County Rescue Squad.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Tadlock; brother-in-law, Riley Thompson; and son-in-law, Danny Perry. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Barbara; his children, Mark Lewis Tadlock and Jill Tadlock Perry. He cherished his beloved grandsons, Brandon Daniel Perry (Carson Barnhill Perry) of Colerain and Justin Evans Perry of Windsor. Also surviving; his sister, Carolyn Tadlock Thompson, along with her children, Judy and Andy, all of Windsor; his sister-in-law, Sally Tadlock and her children, Mary and Bill; and special cousins Anne Spencer Hughes and Jane Cobb.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cashie Baptist Church. Rev. Stafford Beasley will officiate, and burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times from their home.
Memorial donations may be made to Cashie Baptist Church, the Windsor Lion's Club and Windsor Fire Department.
