Mickey Eugene Phelps, 76 of Bonnie Best Rd. died Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Phelps was born on October 24, 1943 in Virginia, to the late Sidney Albert and Melba Keel Phelps. Mickey was retired as an overhaul technician at the yarn mill. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and served during Vietnam in the US Army. Mickey loved to dance, fish and was an excellent craftsman.

Survivors include; sons, Mike Phelps and Christopher "Dean" Phelps (Gloria Michelle) of Williamston; brothers, Sammy Phelps and Billy Phelps of Williamston, David Phelps of Chardon, OH and Danny Phelps of Lansing, KS; grandchildren, Sean Michael Phelps, Ashley Michelle Phelps, Cierra Neveau and Katelynn Gregory; great grandchildren, Gerald Lawrence III, Waylon Ace Neveau, Rilee Faith Umphlett and Skyylar Grace Umphlett.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 2:00PM at Martin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kurt Honican officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening at Walker Funeral Home in Williamston from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and other times from the home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5171 Glenwood Ave.  Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
