Dateline: Merry Hill, NC

Michael Terry Pratt, 81, of NC 45 North died Friday, December 20, 2024 at his home with his sons by his side. He was born March 24,1943 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late George William and Rhodes Holder Pratt.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline McClenny Pratt; daughter, Sherry Caroline Pratt; and a son, Brian Wilber Pratt. Terry was a carpenter and commercial fisherman by trade; he was a former president of the NC Wildlife Federation, an advocate for commercial fishermen and a member of the North Carolina Fisheries Association. He was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Payne officiating. Family will receive friends at the church after the service. Inurnment will follow in the Pratt family cemetery at Sheep's Landing Road, Merry Hill, NC.

Survivors include his sons, Michael G. Pratt and David Arron Pratt both of Merry Hill; brother, Joe P. Pratt and wife, Janice of Merry Hill; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
