Dateline: Windsor, NC.

Michael Bryan Lee, age 69, died Saturday, June 26, 2026, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville. Michael was born on October 13, 1956, to the late Ernest Eugene Lee and Sandra Lee Letchworth Lee in Hertford County. Michael retired from the NC Department of Transportation as a supervisor of a road maintenance crew.

Michael had many talents; he loved to sing, especially in the church choir at the Windsor Assembly of God where he was a member.  He was a commercial fisherman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and turtling.  He was known all over the state for catching an "alligator snaping turtle". Michael started the Bertie County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He loved his family and found much joy in watching his great nephews, Sonny and Banks play baseball.  Michael will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife; Shirley Hoggard Lee of the home; son, Thomas Franklin "Frankie" Lee of Spain; sister, Linda Byrum (Henry) of Greenville; brother, Vernon Lee (Tammy) of Colerain; nieces, Brandi Moore and Christina Hoggard; nephews, Christopher and Bryan Lee, and Joshua Byrum; great niece, Leighton Moore; great nephews, Sonny, Banks, Silas, Samuel, and Campbell Lee, Joseph and Jacob Byrum, James, Jason and Jackson Brooks.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Windsor Assembly of God Church with Pastor Chuck Gray officiating the service.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM and from other times at the home.
