Dateline: Williamston

Michael Wayne Curtis, 72 went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 18th 2025, surrounded by family at ECU Health Hospital. Mike was a man who loved the outdoors, he loved to rabbit and deer hunt, but his favorite hobby was fishing.  He had a passion for working on small engine repairs and helping out anyone he could.  His strongest passion of all was his love for his family.

Mike graduated from Robersonville High School followed by working at Robersonville Products of Robersonville, NC.  He then went to work with Hyster Yale in Rocky Mount, NC, which was his last place of employment due to health issues.

Mike was the youngest of ten children.  He is survived by his son Kevin, wife Vickie and granddaughter Mallory of Williamston and step granddaughter Jaclyn of Macclesfield; his brother Richard and wife Patsy Curtis of Williamston; his sisters-in-laws, Kay Curtis, Minnie Curtis and Nancy Curtis and many nieces and nephews.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Allie Mae Wynn and Alvis Paul Curtis, his brothers, Marvin, A.P., Lawrence, Jerry, James, and Stanley, and his two sisters Nancy Gwarek and Barbara Hopkins.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Williamston.  The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family will meet at other times at the home of his brother, Richard Curtis, 1585 Garrett Road, Williamston, NC.
