Mary Jane Mizell Asbell,91, passed away Saturday December 24, 2022, at ECU Chowan Hospital in Edenton.  Mary Jane was born on September 9, 1931 to the late William Wesley Mizell and Ethel Lawrence Mizell.  She had been a lifelong , faithful member of Greens Cross Baptist Church, Windsor, NC.  She loved her church and served in many roles in the church over her lifetime.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Reginald E. Asbell, and two brothers, Ronnie E. Mizell and Vernard Mizell.

She is survived by three children, Wanda Asbell Jenkins (Bill) of Edenton, Sherry Davenport (Ray) of Windsor and Wesley E. Asbell (Cindy) of Greenville; three granddaughters, Caroline Grace Asbell, Patricia Jenkins Speller (Stevie) and Jennifer Jenkins (Taylor Brockman) and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Greens Cross Baptist Church.  Will Hoggard will officiate. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 28 ^th from 1:30 PM until service time at 3:00 PM at Greens Cross Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Greens Cross Baptist Church, 436 US 17 North, Windsor, NC  27983.
