Ms. Gwendolyn "Lyn" Gretchen House, lovingly known to most as "Nana," age 80, of Williamston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday May 17, 2026.
Lyn was born on March 6,1946, in Columbus, Ohio to Beatrice Jeanne Hubbard and Charles Edwin Rogers Jr. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both through her career as a Registered Nurse and through the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her kindness, strength, warmth, and gentle spirit touched countless lives.
Lyn was predeceased by her parents Beatrice "Jeanne" and Charles Edwin Rogers Jr. and her late husband William Staton Peele, two brothers: Charles "Tracy" Edwin Rogers III, Jeffrey "Jeff " Hughes Rogers. She is survived by her two daughters: Kathy Conigliaro (Giovanni), Cyndy Price (Alfred Jr.); one step-son Kevin Peele (Denise), step daughter Jennifer Billings (Chris), one sister Jaynel Holliday (Mike), her brother John Rogers and her sister in law Gloria Rogers and seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the love and memories they shared with their Nana.
Nana will be remembered for her caring heart, unwavering devotion to family, and the comfort and joy she brought to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A celebration of Lyn's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2026 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home, Williamston with Pastor Jim Cooper officiating and providing the music. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The Nurses Honor Guard will be providing the Nightingale Tribute also.
