Lucy G Spruill, 92 yrs of age, of the Pleasant Grove community of Roper, NC, died on Nov 1, 2025.

Born on May 16th, 1933, she was preceded in death by her parents, Garland Gurganus and Eva Ayers Gurganus and husband, Thomas Wesley Spruill; two sisters: Machree Worsham and Syble Blount. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Alton Gurganus.

Surviving are two sisters: Hazel Baum and Barbara Biggs.

Also surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law: Eva Hunsberger and Jack, of Victor, CO., and Susan Peele and Bonner, of Plymouth, NC.

She remained active in her church, Saint's Delight Church of Christ. She had well over 8,000 volunteer hours at ECU Health Chowan Hospital, where she helped many patients and was loved by the staff as well.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Saints Delight Church of Christ from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Saints Delight Church of Christ with Pastor Don Phelps and Pastor Chris Grimes officiating.  The burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Plymouth, NC.
