Louise Gurganus Speller 89, of Cedar Landing Road, died Friday March 13, 2020 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. She was born August 31, 1930 to the late Joseph Lee and Lucy Selma Cassell Speller and was predeceased by her husband, James Louis "Bogie" Speller; son Ronnie Speller; daughter, Shelia S. Harrison; sisters, Mary Lee and Peggy; brothers, Bill and Edward Earl. Louise was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and former florist, having worked with several shops in the area. Her hobbies included crafts, cooking, reading, sewing and gardening.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J. N. Baggett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Speller Family Cemetery, Hwy 13-17.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Speller Barnes of Ahoskie; son, Russell Speller and wife Brenda of Chocowinity; brother, Curt Speller of PA; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 16 th from 1:00 PM until service time at Walker Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to Wounded Warrior, 4200 Morganton Road, Suite 300, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
