Dateline: Williamston, NC
Liam Michael Shepherd, of McCaskey Road in Williamston, passed away on November 3, 2026, at the age of 13. Born on August 31, 2013, Liam brought joy to those around him throughout his young life and will be remembered with deep love by all who knew him.
Liam was an eighth-grade student at Martin County Middle School whose bright spirit made a lasting impression. He always had a smile on his face and was always ready for joking around, bringing laughter and light to family and friends. He loved his mother and father deeply, and that love was a defining part of his life. Liam attended Gold Point Church of Christ and Macedonia Christian Church, where he was part of a caring faith community.
He found great happiness in the outdoors and in the games and pastimes he loved. Liam played in the Williamston Youth Baseball League for many years and was also part of the Martin County travel baseball team. Baseball was one of the many ways his energy, enthusiasm, and love of life shone through. He also loved to hunt and fish, enjoying the simple pleasures of time spent outdoors.
Liam leaves behind a family who cherished him dearly. He is survived by his mother, Katie Landry Shepherd of Williamston; his father, Michael Shepherd (Kinsey) of Williamston; his brother, Landry Shepherd of Williamston; his maternal grandmother, Trudy Payne of Williamston; his maternal grandfather, Garry Landry of Indiana; and his paternal grandmother, Donna Pierce of Williamston, as well as many cousin and friends. Each of them carries forward precious memories of Liam’s smile, his humor, and the love he shared so freely.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Randy Pierce.
Service information will be announced at a later date.
Though Liam’s life was far too short, the happiness he brought, the love he gave, and the memories he created will remain close in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and tenderly remembered.
